COOL OFF IN THE CHICAGO SOUTHLAND

The heat is on. We’re in for some scorchers as we hit the peak of summer. Looking for a place to do just that? There are several options in the Chicago Southland. Here are a few:

This fun water park features a zero-depth pool surrounded by plenty of deck and lawn for lounging and a water play feature for little ones. There’s also 8 slides for the thrill-seekers and a lazy river for those who just want to chill.

Enjoy a refreshing excursion to this fun splash pad that sprays, shoots and cascades water. The brightly-colored interactive water components create a fun way to beat the heat.

Part of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, Green Lake Family Aquatic Center offers zero-depth entry, a tube slide, lazy river, play features, water playground, children’s slide, lounge areas and a concession stand.

Kids will enjoy running around with sprinkles coming from every direction. This colorful water play park is open daily in two-hour spans weather permitting. It can also be rented for parties.

This aqua center dates back to 1955 but has modern features that include a 160-foot water slide, two drop slides, a 15-foot-high aquatic climbing wall, lap pool and beach pool with sandy area for the toddlers.

Covering over 2,100 square feet of wet plat area, your little ones will have a blast at this safari-themed splash pad. Dumping coconuts, a big barrel and swaying palm trees are featured along with bubbling geysers, water cannons and more. Shade structures with lounge chairs make it a perfect place to hang on a hot day.

Stop by this park that has a basketball court, creative play area, fishing station, fitness equipment and walking path in addition to a splash pad. Have fun playing in the sun while splashing around among the water features then grab a snack at the concession stand.
